Product tracking during production
for:
- Configuration
management
- Production
control
- Flow
of goods control
An
example of product tracking on a conveyor system
Typically, manufactured products are registered on leaving
the production area and are then transferred to the assembly
conveyor. Each transport bin on the assembly conveyor is equipped
with a transponder. When the product is loaded into the bin
the transponder is programmed with the specific information
relating to that product.
As the products pass along the conveyor the individual delivery
configuration of each product is made up by adding supplementary
items. The information stored in the transponder of each product
bin controls the actions at the various filling points. At
the transfer point from the conveyor to the packing/dispatch
section the products are individually documented using the
information from the transponder.
The transponders are re-programmed as they return to the start
of the conveyor.
